A minimum of three to four years working in a law office as an immigration paralegal is required. Bilingual candidates who are fluent in Spanish or Portuguese and English are encouraged to apply.

The following is a summary of the job description for the immigration paralegal:
General Purpose of Position:
The Senior Immigration Paralegal is responsible for assisting attorneys with managing immigration cases, preparing and submitting legal documents, conducting legal research, maintaining regular communication with clients, and managing a wide range of immigration cases, from asylum applications to family-based visas.
This role also includes preparing legal documents such as affidavits, legal briefs, and cover letters, court submissions and ensuring timely and accurate submissions. The paralegal provides client education and communication on immigration processes and manages client expectations throughout the case lifecycle. Additionally, the Lead Immigration Paralegal ensures the accuracy and timeliness of case filings while providing comprehensive support to the immigration legal team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Client Communication (30%): Communicate with clients via phone, email, or case management software to provide updates, gather information, and explain case processes.

Document Review (20%): Review client-provided documents, such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, and affidavits, ensuring accuracy and consistency for case submissions.

Application Preparation and Submission (20%): Prepare and submit applications to USCIS and immigration courts, including but not limited to family-based petitions, asylum applications, and deportation defense.

Legal Research (10%): Conduct research on immigration laws, procedures, and recent legal developments to support case strategy and preparation.

File Organization (10%): Organize client files, maintain accurate records, and conduct a thorough review of deadlines and case assignments to ensure timely submission of all legal documents.

Deadline Management (10%): Monitor case deadlines and prioritize tasks to manage multiple cases effectively, utilizing case management systems for reminders and scheduling.
Education and Experience:
Required:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· 3-4 years of relevant immigration paralegal experience or related law firm paralegal experience
Preferred:
· Bilingual English/Spanish and/or Portuguese
· Experience with MyCase, Docketwise or other case management software
· Experience with MS Word, Microsoft Outlook
